Access SF maintains (2) Email Groups on Yahoo! to encourage community and communication among producers, viewers, advocates, and volunteers. As a matter of policy, the station’s Email Groups are both democratic and moderated, with staff taking a hands-on role in guiding threads of discussion to ensure the Email Groups are safe, online hubs for dialogue and helpful exchange.

Audience Email Group: (Average Volume) A Yahoo! Group that keeps Cable Channel 29 connected to the viewers of public access television. It also attempts to engage the audience topically by assisting public access producers with audience development, web marketing & outreach. It includes monthly programming announcements, messages on special channel presentations, and scheduling updates.

Discussion Email Group: (High Volume) Participants in this Yahoo! Group opt in for a list that is more frequent and interactive. While it is also moderated, the spirit here is that anyone can post or reply with their opinion on issues relevant to public access and Access SF. This is also an online meeting space for building crew contacts and expanding contact with volunteers.
