** NOW PLAYING ON CABLE CHANNEL 29 **
THE SAN FRANCISCANS is Access SF's award winning community outreach
project that connects the local nonprofit sector with the resources of
public access television. Now in its second year, the program model for
04-05 includes THE in-house production of original talk shows and
public service announcements (PSAs) that address the themes of health
care innovation, multi-lingual services, and community violence. For
YEAR TWO, Access SF has, so far, produced (3) new talk shows and a
slate of PSAs involving (7) local nonprofits ogranizations. Local
presentations from this latest round began screening on Channel 29 the
week of Oct. 11th and will continue through the end of the month.
Repeat presentations of each episode are likely program additions in
the coming weeks and months.

In 2003, Access SF entered into an ongoing production partnership with
the League of Women Voters SF to encourage voter education &
turnout by providing local audiences with expanded non-partisan,
pre-election TV coverage. For the Nov. '03 & March '04 elections,
this resulted in 85+ hours of original local programming, including
studio-produced candidate statements for the SF Mayoral race and
pro/con discussions covering both state and local ballot measures. For
the upcoming local elections on Nov. 2nd, Access SF is pleased to
present our third and newest round of productions with the League of
Women Voters. NOW PLAYING THRU OCT. 31st, local viewers can watch Cable
Channel 29 daily for extensive, advance coverage of the Nov. '04 local
elections, including (8) Pro/Con Discussions on San Francisco's ballot
measures that are set to come before the voters in just two weeks time.

Recently, Access SF bid farewell to three of its key, long time staff
members, each of whom moved on from the station to pursue new
professional horizons in the fields of media & television:
- Jan Levine, Operations Manager for the past five years, has taken a
position as Managing Director at a Public Access station just outside
of Portland, OR.
- Scott Boswell, Production Facilitator/Trainer since 2001, has taken a
position at Youth Sounds, a leading Oakland-based media arts nonprofit.
- Alice Yu, Training and Internships Coordinator, who moved on from the
station earlier this year after four years with Access SF.
We wanted to take this opportunity to thank each of them for their
unique contributions to the station, especially during the buildout and
launch of the new public access facility at 1720 Market Street. We wish
them much success in their future endeavors!
