TURN ON YOUR CABLE TV! 140+ youth videos to screen on Channel 29
Access SF/Cable Channel 29 is pleased to present our inaugural Youth Media Festival as part of the station's annual free speech celebrations for National Media and Democracy Week. Slated to unfold March 14-18, 2005, the festival will include over 140 short videos of interest to local youth and families.

- Nightly from 7pm-8pm, there will be film festival style presentations of short works that were pre-selected by a youth screening committee. Local youth were also recruited through partner agencies to serve as on-camera hosts & interviewers. The following are themes for each evening:

Mon 3/14: Social Change & Community Involvement
Tue 3/15: Community Health & Public Awareness
Wed 3/16: Reflections of the Self & Other
Thu 3/17: Documentary & Non-fiction Stories
Fri 3/18: Experiments, Innovation & Fiction Stories

- Daily from 10:30am-3pm, all festival entries not programmed for prime time will be presented in order to accommodate the volume of submissions to this inaugural festival.

For more information, go to Access SF's Youth Media Festival page online.

FESTIVAL UNDERWRITER! Jewish Vocational Services (JVS)
Special thanks to JVS for underwriting, in part, the Cable Channel 29 Youth Media Festival.

About JVS: The mission of JVS is to bring people and work together. JVS strengthens the Bay Area community by helping people, particularly those with barriers to employment, acquire the skills and resources to find and keep meaningful employment and progress towards the goal of self-sufficiency. JVS was founded in 1973 to aid recent college graduates who were having trouble finding employment. Over the years the programs have expanded to address the barriers faced by others groups including individuals transitioning from welfare-to-work, refugees resettling in the San Francisco area, and adults & youth with disabilities.

Visit the JVS website to learn more about services & programs available to youth and adults.
